What's really important

Once again I've neglected blogging until I have a few I want to do, so don't miss all the new ones today.

Even with my best efforts this Christmas season(see post below), I still succumbed on Saturday to my little tragedy. I had spent over 2 hours(this is why I do not do crafts!) enjoying getting little gingerbread men looking perfect, each one unique, for a Christmas party we were going to that evening. At the end I was a bit rushed to get out the door and I neglected to get a picture. Our little family hops in the car and off we go. Not 5 minutes into the 45 minute drive Scott slammed on the breaks when a solid line of stopped cars appeared in front of us over the hill. The tray in my hands flew into the dash, cookies getting smashed and falling into the diaper bag. I don't always do this, but I got so upset and started to cry. My poor cookies that were so cute that I had spent so much time on!!
See this one? It was a little ballerina...now ruined.
And this one had little green m&m's on his toes to make him look like an elf...
It seems silly but at that time it felt like such a blow.

Good thing I have my son to remind me what's really important this season...
He arranged this all by himself. It's amazing how children often become the teachers and we the ones learning.

I am so sorry about your cookies. It isn't very fun when you spend so much time on something to have it break or fall part. At least some of the cookies were still in one piece.

What a sweet kid David is to remind you of what Christmas is all about.

SAD! I completely understand that pain. So many tears spent over baked goods that befall tragedy. Seriously, sad. You did such a great job, though. They sure were cute!
