March 11th to the 14th Scott, Parker and I took off to Jacksonville Illinois for a house hunting trip. Parker was amazing on both flights- I think he was loving having all of Mom and Dad's attention. We saw a ton of houses Saturday which Parker was also very good for. And the real estate agent who showed us around was so kind and helpful. She was great. Sunday we went to church and met some amazingly nice people, rested, and went to my cousins house for dinner. Monday we saw some more houses and then rested again. Parker really needed his afternoon nap! We felt pretty good about this whole thing before we went out there. And for some reason when we were there it just didn't feel right, and by Monday night we pretty much knew we weren't supposed to move to Illiois. It was an extremely hard decision but we've decided to try out other options. You can't do something if it doesn't feel right, right? So anyway, we flew home early- the next day. What a whirl wind of crazy stressful stuff!
Scott has an interview with Boeing tomorrow so we'll see how that goes! We're really hoping this will work out!
Here are a few pictures from our trip. I didn't take very many.
This store was a place Scott shopped at all the time in Germany, so he was pretty excited to see one in Jacksonville!
Looking at a WWII memorial for all those in Jacksonville who died in service.
Parker hanging out at my cousins' house.
Ok, the morning we left we had some time to kill between checking out of the hotel and going to the airport, so we drove around the city a bit. We came upon this amazing house that I just had to get a picture of. It's even more amazing in person. I seriously wanted to knock on the front door and ask if I could see the inside. Do you see the chandalier on the side porch? I mentioned it to my cousin in law Mindy and she mentioned one of these houses had been featured in Country Living so I looked it up online. You can see picturews of the interior here.
A cool bridge over the Mississippi river taken from Alton, a really cool town where every business is still using the old old buildings and there were huge old churches on almost every corner. We stopped here and had a look around on the way to the airport.

Hey Boeing is out here now! I'm sure you're looking in Washington though. Good luck with everything!
So fun to here about the trip! And that house is gorgeous!!
Why did it take me this long to figure out that you made a new blog? I miss you! Glad I found it :)
Wow, crazy that it doesn't feel right to move out there. Hopefully the Boeing opportunity pans out! My brother (also named Scott) works there as an engineer; wouldn't it be funny they ran into each other? Good luck!
And oh my gosh is that house gorgeous!
That house is amazing!! Ican't even imagine living in it though....
Good luck with Boeing!!
Hahaha! I should read all the posts first then comment!! I asked on one of the other posts how the house hunting went. Well, here is my answer! Well, that's good that you both got an answer, but at the same time I'm sure a bit frustrating. Good luck with it all!!
