I can't believe my baby is a year old! What a fun addition to our family he has been this last year.
Parker is such a boy. He LOVES cars already. He loves to get one in each hand and push them at the same time as he crawls around. He will also do it with books or anything else that will slide easily across the floor. But mostly books. He has such a contagious smile and laugh. He hasn't tried walking yet though I'm sure he could get it easily as his older siblings did if he wanted to. He's just content to crawl, and that's fine by me! He finds a strange delight in sticking his finger into his nose and just holding it there, half of his finger shoved in. There is a hole about the size of his finger on top of a dining room chair here where a nob is missing and he loves to stick his finger in that too. I think he just finds small holes fascinating. He loves playing with his siblings. He loves to play peek-a-boo. He is an elevation child. Meaning he usually get's upset if you sit down while holding him. He's caught on really fast(last few days) to feeding himself with a spoon. I only have to help him scoop up the food. He hates cows milk. He still wakes up once a night. For some reason he hates getting his diaper/clothes changed and cries and writhes the whole time. In the last week or so he's started saying "Da da" first, then "Ma ma". He likes to pat his mouth as he makes noise (you know, what we all did as kids when pretending to be "indians"). And he's also recently learned to clap. Every one tells me how beautiful/cute he is. I feel so blessed to be his mother.
I did my best to get good pictures of him this time, but couldn't do it how I normally would because a lot of my stuff is packed up in storage. This is a blanket my mother-in-law made for Scott and I thought it'd make a good enough background.
We celebrated his birthday a day late on Sunday so more family could make it. We had all my immediate family and Scott's immediate family who live in the area. We just ate cake, opened presents, and then played games after Parker went to bed.
After the song was done I tried to "help" Parker blow out his candle. Well I obviously didn't blow hard enough because the flame only flickered. David was next to me and next thing I know he's right up in my face and he blew that candle out! haha. It was so funny.
He's been sick for about a week now, felt and acted normal on his actual birthday, but then Sunday when we had the party he was back to being grumpy and sick. He just wanted me to hold him the whole time. Luckily one taste of the cake was all he needed. He sat there joyfully eating it for like 20 minutes.
He enjoyed opening presents at first...
but by the end(of 3) he had had it. "I didn't want shoes mom!" haha. Poor guy.

I'm glad things went well for Parker's birthday, except for not feeling good. I hope he gets better soon, if he hasn't already. I love all of these pictures of Parker. Especially the ones of him on the blanket. He is such a cutie.
I can't believe he is a year old! That went by fast! I hope things are going well for you!
