On New Years Eve one of my old friends from church as a teenager called me to see if I wanted to go to the Sound of Music Sing A-long on New Years Day. I love the sound of music and am a "fan" on Facebook so I had heard about this sing along, but I never thought I'd actually go. And seriously, it was SO much fun!
We drove down to the 5th avenue theater together, ate at Five Guys along the way, and then laughed, did silly actions, hissed at the Baroness, cheered at Maria, barked at Rolf, "awed" at Gretyl, and sang our hearts out. It was quite exciting to be in a full theater where everyone was singing, and it was really cool to see that movie in a huge theater for the first time with awesome sound. It was also quite amusing the things some people would shout out at certain parts, or the build up to pulling the crackers right when Maria and the Captain kiss for the first time. That was pretty hilarious actually. People kept popping them at funny or awkward moments earlier. Anyway, it was so much fun, different than anything I've ever done, and so great to have a real girls night!
Yes, men dressed up as nuns. A lot of people dressed up for the costume contest at the beginning. I heard these guys were on the news earlier.
